Information We Collect
- Pairing Codes: Temporary 6-character codes generated for each session (expire after 5 minutes)
- Connection Data: WebRTC peer connection information for establishing direct browser-to-desktop connections
- Session Metadata: Connection timestamps and session duration for service reliability
How We Use Your Information
- To establish and maintain screen sharing connections between your Mac and browser
- To ensure service reliability and performance
- To improve our service based on usage patterns
Data Transmission
Screen sharing video streams are transmitted directly between your Mac and browser using WebRTC peer-to-peer technology. Video content does not pass through our servers — it goes directly from your device to the receiving browser.
Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except as required by law or to comply with legal processes. All signaling data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS.
Data Security and Retention
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect connection data. Pairing codes expire automatically after 5 minutes. Session metadata is retained for up to 30 days for service reliability purposes and is then automatically deleted.
Your Rights
You may end your session at any time by disconnecting from the Mac app or closing the browser window. All session data is immediately cleared upon disconnection.
Third-Party Services
screenblast.it uses the following third-party services:
- Microsoft Azure: For secure cloud hosting, signaling, and data storage (subject to Microsoft's privacy policy)
- Google STUN Servers: For WebRTC connection establishment (subject to Google's privacy policy)
Changes to This Statement
We may update this Privacy Statement periodically. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any changes. The last update date will be displayed at the top of this statement.
